Around the sixth to eighth month of a baby’s life, the deciduous or baby teeth begin to emerge.  This can be painful and uncomfortable for the baby, as well as the parents. Here are five ways to ease and comfort a teething child:

1)      Clove Oil Gum Massage

Clove oil is a natural anesthetic.  It is pleasant to the taste buds and quells sore gums.  Mix 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil with a high quality clove essential oil.  We recommend Snow Lotus. Use you fingertip or a cotton swab to massage mixture into the gums.

2)      Frozen Mango Pit

Mango pits are durable and safe for young kids to gnaw on because they won’t breakdown.  Place a few pits in the freeze to have on hand for more difficult teething days. The coldness will decrease the inflammation and the repetitive chewing eases the pain.

3)      Acupressure

Massaging two important acupoints called the “two gates” or Large Intestine 4 (Li 4) and Liver 3 (Liv 3) can ease baby’s teething pain.  It is simple, effective and easy to do anywhere.

4)      Homeopathy Remedy
Chamomillia is used for young children with red, swollen gums that are sensitive to the touch. It curbs irritability and cuts through the pain.  Give your child 12x or 6x every hour as needed up to six doses.
